Hamburg salute Kevin Keegan with special applause round: “In heaven, they still play football.” Speaking to the team and fans prior to a training camp session in Längenfeld, Austria, Hamburg board member Dr. Eric Huwer became the latest Hamburg figure to pay tribute to recently deceased Hamburg professional Kevin Keegan. The HSV Chief Financial officer – also a DFL Supervisory Board member – referenced a quote from club legend Uwe Seeler, who passed away four years ago.  Huwer’s speech on Kevin Keegan “ My dear HSVers, it’s great to have you here again, ” Huwer began. “ Before we begin, we’d like to take a moment to recall two of the great HSVers. As I’m sure you’ve heard, Kevin Keegan left us far too soon yesterday at the age of 75. He was a champion: A two time Ballon d’Or winner, a Bundesliga winner, and a Champions League Finalist. Rest in Peace, ‘Mighty Mouse’. “ Uwe Seeler left us four years ago, ” Huwer continued. “ About him, one truly can’t say enough. He gave us the moral compass which we follow. One thing he always said was ‘Never fear! They also play football in heaven.’ Let us take a pause today, but not in silence.
