Barcelona considering loan move for highly-rated academy talent – report Barcelona are beginning to accelerate several important squad decisions as preparations for the new season gather pace, and one of the club’s brightest academy prospects could soon be at the centre of those plans. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup now behind them, the Blaugrana have turned their full attention back to club football.  While much of the focus remains on first-team arrivals and departures, Barcelona are also assessing the development of some of La Masia’s most promising youngsters. According to SPORT , left-back Jofre Torrents is among the players whose future is currently under review.  Although the teenager is highly regarded within the club, Barcelona are considering whether a loan move would provide the best platform for his continued development. That view has attracted attention from across Europe. As reported before , clubs from Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, France, Belgium, and Spain have all made enquiries about the left-back’s situation.  For now, Torrents’ representatives are evaluating the available options before any decision is taken regarding the next step in his career. The Catalans are continuing to work on completing the permanent signing of Joao Cancelo , while Alejandro Balde is determined to establish himself under Flick after returning for pre-season. If both players remain part of the squad, opportunities for Torrents would naturally become limited during the upcoming campaign. Hence, a temporary move would allow the youngster to gain valuable first-team experience without closing the door on his long-term future at Camp Nou. Importantly, Barcelona are not rushing into a decision, as the club remain convinced of Torrents’ ability and view any loan purely as part of his development rather than a step away from their long-term project.
