Mostafa Mohamed sent to train with Nantes’ reserve team after showing up to preseason a month behind schedule Nantes striker Mostafa Mohamed (28) has eventually turned up for preseason training, according to Ouest-France .  The Egypt international has not been called up by national team manager Hossam Hassan for the 2026 World Cup, so he was expected to turn up for pre-season with the Ligue 2 side on June 24. But Mohamed missed the return to training, and also left Nantes in the dark regarding his whereabouts. With the senior team on a training camp in La Baule, Mohamed has been sent to train with the reserve team at the club’s La Jonelière training ground.  The outlet adds that, every day, since June 24, Nantes wrote him a letter telling him that he would’t be paid until he showed up at the team’s training ground. Nantes head coach Michel Der Zakarian fumed when pressed on the latter, adding that he has never seen such a behaviour from a player. “ The guy doesn’t want to come to work, that’s on him, not us “, said the former Montpellier manager. “ If he doesn’t want to train, he stays home .” Mohamed has reportedly made no mystery of his intent to leave Nantes this summer, given his salary has been cut following the club’s demotion into Ligue 2. On their part, Les Canaris  also want to part ways with the Egyptian, but as  Ouest-France  understands, not many bids are expected for a 28-year-old striker who has logged only four goals last season and who has entered the final months of his contract.  GFFN | Bastien Cheval
