Burnley sign Republic of Ireland international midfielder Finn Burnley have completed the signing of Republic of Ireland international midfielder Jamie Finn on a free transfer. The Clarettes announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon. The 28-year-old joins Burnley after leaving former club Sunderland earlier this summer. She has signed a two-year deal at Turf Moor. Finn has good experience at Barclays WSL2 level from her spells with Birmingham City and Sunderland. She has spent the last four seasons playing her football at that level of the pyramid. Finn also briefly turned out for Birmingham City in the Barclays Women’s Super League in her early days in the Midlands. On the international stage, Finn has been capped by the Republic of Ireland on 22 occasions. She is still awaiting her first goal for her country. After joining Burnley, Finn said “I’m very excited to be here and I’m happy to sign for this club. It’s a massive club with a lot of history. “The conversations that I’ve had with the club and the management team have been very positive. Their ambitions are really good, and I want to be a part of that. “I think it’s a professional environment that I can really progress in. You come in every day wanting to work hard, so to have the facilities that we do here will make that even easier.” Finn is the latest of several signings made by Burnley in the summer transfer window.
