In a statement, the Giants said they will use the fixture at the Accu Stadium on Saturday, 8 August to reveal where they plan to play home games in 2027. The West Yorkshire side are leaving the ground, which they have shared with League One football club Huddersfield Town since it opened in 1994, at the end of the season. Owner Ken Davy pulled out of a bid to buy The Shay stadium in Halifax last month and subsequently resigned as chairman earlier in July. On the field, the bottom-of-the-table side are on a run of 12 successive Super League losses and have won just two of their 19 matches this year. Huddersfield Town took sole ownership of the ground in September last year and the Giants' hopes of moving to a new purpose-built ground in the area hit a stumbling block in June after the council said its preferred site was not earmarked for sports development. "Despite extensive talks with the local authority, all avenues for an easily developable site within the town perimeter have been exhausted within the necessary timeframe," chairman Ralph Rimmer told the club website. "However, the vision for the Giants remains the same: a consistently dominant Super League force, both on and off the field producing sell-out crowds in its own venue."
