Napoli decide to sell Romelu Lukaku after meeting with agent

Napoli decide to sell Romelu Lukaku after meeting with agent Serie A giants Napoli initially had doubts about whether they should keep Romelu Lukaku or not but they are now certain about parting ways. Corriere dello Sport report that the striker is now formally on the market and Napoli are now awaiting offers for the Belgian, who did impress at the World Cup. The club held a meeting with his agent Federico Pastorello and parties have decided they won’t continue together. Napoli anyway wanted Lukaku to reduce his wages and this hasn’t found favours from the player at all.  Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis also shares this opinion and everyone is now waiting to find the right offers, with a host of clubs having been linked with the striker for many weeks. None of them have made formal moves but Lukaku continues to attract interest from many clubs abroad. Decision makes sense Last season was a sign that Napoli don’t really need Lukaku and since he earns a huge amount and not getting any younger, parting ways makes a lot of sense. Losing him on free would’ve been damaging and even for the player, leaving now could be sensible especially after a good World Cup campaign. Kaustubh Pandey – GIFN
