Chelsea Are Showing Interest In This Talented Full-Back: Should Alonso Get Him On Board?
Chelsea Are Showing Interest In This Talented Full-Back: Should Alonso Get Him On Board? In a recent report , journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Chelsea are showing interest in Fenerbahce full-back Archie Brown this summer. It is understood that the Blues are facing competition in the form of Manchester United in the race to sign the English defender this off-season. Brown’s Impressive Form In Turkish Football Brown enjoyed a good run of form at the Turkish club in the previous campaign when he put in a run of solid displays on the left side of their defence. The 24-year-old scored five goals and picked up seven assists in 38 matches for Fenerbahce last season in multiple competitions. The English talent is currently among the best full-backs in the Turkish Super Lig. Hence, it is no surprise that the Blues are hoping to land him in this transfer window. His current contract at the Turkish club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Chelsea to sign him on the cheap later this year. Brown loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to make some important interceptions for his team on the defensive end of the field. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot. The English sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating a handful of crucial goals for his side from the left flank. Brown is primarily a left-back but can also fill in as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-back if told to do so. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Blues manage to bring him back to England this off-season. Brown would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting place at Stamford Bridge next season. At 24, Brown has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the West London club to pursue this off-season. All in all, Alonso would be wise to try everything in his power to get him on board before the end of this transfer period.
