Barcelona begin exploring alternatives to Hansi Flick’s preferred target – Romano Barcelona remain fully committed to signing Julian Alvarez this summer, but the club is no longer placing all their hopes on one deal as they look to strengthen Hansi Flick’s frontline ahead of the new season. According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano , the Catalan giants have started assessing alternative striker options in case their pursuit of the Atletico Madrid star reaches a dead end.  While Alvarez continues to headline Barcelona’s transfer plans, the club recognises that Atletico’s reluctance to negotiate could ultimately force them to move in a different direction. The latest Barcelona transfer news suggests there has been no change in the club’s priority.  However, preparations are now underway to ensure the Blaugrana are ready to react if one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer fails to progress. However, Barcelona have officially begun discussing alternative striker targets should Atletico Madrid continue to reject any approach.  President Joan Laporta, sporting director Deco and members of the coaching staff have all been involved in conversations aimed at identifying suitable options if the Julian Alvarez transfer cannot be revived. The club still hopes there could be room for negotiations later in the transfer window.  One proposal under consideration would see Barcelona increase the overall package through performance-related bonuses, potentially taking the deal close to €120 million . The Uruguayan recently joined Al-Hilal’s pre-season training camp after returning to the squad last week, but uncertainty continues to surround his future.  Since January, Nunez has been unable to play in the Saudi Pro League because of restrictions on foreign-player registrations, leaving his long-term situation unresolved. For Barcelona, the objective is not simply to sign a striker but to find the right profile capable of improving Flick’s attacking options.  That explains why the club is assessing different candidates instead of rushing into a decision.
