Manchester United agree personal terms with Roma midfielder Manu Kone
Manchester United agree personal terms with Roma midfielder Manu Kone Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle with Manu Kone’s representatives over personal terms, per Corriere dello Sport . The Red Devils have completed the signings of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans from Chelsea and Aston Villa respectively. But they want to add a third midfielder to the squad after Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte sustaining a long-term injury at the World Cup. United have agreed personal terms with Kone and they are ready to submit a €50 million transfer bid. However, that may not be enough for Roma, who are reportedly demanding a fee around €60m. The Serie A club need to raise money to balance the books but with Kone under contract until 2029, they are in a strong position to demand a premium fee for their prized asset. The 25-year-old significantly enhanced his reputation as one of the best talents in European football following his impressive displays at the World Cup. He started four matches for France, who made it to the semi-finals of the marquee tournament. Kone also enjoyed an excellent 2025-26 season at Roma, making 37 appearances across all competitions and scoring two goals. The Frenchman has proven himself at the top level of football and is highly rated for his ball-carrying ability, athleticism and strong defensive skills. United want to make Kone their third midfield signing, but they face strong competition from Atletico Madrid, Al-Ahli and Chelsea. Stats from Transfermarkt
