Everton midfielder Holmgaard signs new one-year deal
Everton midfielder Holmgaard signs new one-year deal Everton midfielder Karen Holmgaard has signed a one-year contract extension with the club. The Toffees announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon. The 27-year-old Danish international joined Everton from German club Turbine Potsdam in summer 2022. Holmgaard has gone on to make a real impact in the Everton side. The midfielder made 11 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Super League last season before an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury brought her campaign to a premature end. Holmgaard should return to fitness before the end of the calendar year and she will be hoping to impress new boss Scott Phelan once she’s back on the grass. After signing her new deal with Everton, Holmgaard said “I am really proud to have signed a new contract here. I have been here for quite a long time now and have enjoyed it. Hopefully, I can come back stronger. I am just excited to be back on the pitch and help the team. “The Club means a lot to me. I have been here for four years now. I want to keep working, keep developing. I think the values I stand for are the same as Everton Football Club. I am a hard worker and I am excited to show that on the pitch when I am back.” Further Everton squad news will be announced in due course.
