Doncaster midfielder Molyneux rejects new deal

The 28-year-old, who has scored 36 goals in 170 league appearances for Rovers, has one year remaining on his contract with the League One side. Boss Grant McCann told the club website: "Luke, unfortunately, has not wanted to get into negotiations. He's rejected a deal, which is his prerogative, so that's where he is. "We've rejected a bid for Luke, so that's in discussion at the minute, this came after the offer of the contract - we offered the contract way before the bid." McCann is, however, hopeful they will be able to tie captain Owen Bailey down to a new longer-term contract. The 27-year-old midfielder scored 16 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions last season. There is one year left on his current deal, with the club holding the option to extend it by 12 months. "Owen, we're in discussions with, I don't think we're too far away," McCann said.
