Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix to undergo Chelsea medical Crystal Palace and France international centre-back Maxence Lacroix (26) has been allowed to undergo a medical today with Chelsea FC , according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein . The former Sochaux and Wolfsburg defender is expected to sign a six-year deal with Xabi Alonso’s Blues. Lacroix only needed two seasons with the Eagles to become one of the Premier League’s most reliable centre-backs. He joined the South London side in 2014 from Wolfsburg and went on to win the 2025 Emirates FA Cup, the 2025 Community Shield and the 2025-2026 Conference League, totalling 98 appearances across two campaigns with Palace. Lacroix’s performances earned him a spot in Didier Deschamps’ France World Cup squad. The Athletic understands that Chelsea’s outlay to sign Lacroix rises to €60m. GFFN | Bastien Cheval
