The 29-year-old Ireland international has not featured this season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in January. He has scored six tries in 102 National Rugby League appearances and worked under Lenihan when the latter was coaching at Queensland club Titans. "We've got Jimmy for next year, so that's been really good," Lenihan told BBC Radio Leeds. "He's got a great character and he'll add to us as a football club off the field and add to our leadership on the field. "He's a really good age for us and he comes in with a lot of experience of NRL. He's a proper first grade player. "He still obviously had opportunities to stay over there but he was looking for a change and it's a good change for him and for us." Huddersfield are bottom of the 2026 Super League table after suffering 17 defeats in 19 games this season.
