Burnley appoint Bachteler as new manager Burnley have appointed Jackie Bachteler as their new manager ahead of their debut season in Barclays WSL2. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Clarettes earlier today. It has been reported that Bachteler will be assisted by Ross Wallace while Ashley Vickers and Jordan Booth will retain their places on the coaching staff. The 37-year-old has enjoyed a successful coaching career to date which has taken her around the world. Bachteler has held coaching roles with clubs in the United States, Finland, Spain, Cyprus, Costa Rica and Sweden. She has got a wealth of knowledge and contacts and will be hoping to help Burnley in their quest to reach the Barclays Women’s Super League. After being appointed Burnley manager, Bachteler said “I’m really happy to be here. I want to be part of the community here. Being at the final game of last season [against Stoke City] and seeing more than 1,000 people there was great. I look forward to growing that fanbase together, with the supporters showing their excitement towards this project. “They’re going to see an organised team that’s very physical, very positive, and forward thinking in trying to create opportunities for players within the women’s game. It’s going to be a lot of fun to watch.” Whilst leading Burnley into Barclays WSL2 football, Bachteler will also retain her role as a scout for the United States women’s national team.
