According to RMC Sport , PSG have contacted City to enquire about the conditions for a transfer of the Spain international. Signing a new midfielder wasn’t planned for the Champions League winners, but they are now interested in signing Rodri, who has only a year left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium. Real Madrid are still leading the race for the Spaniard, as they have already agreed personal terms with him . But they have yet to agree a transfer fee with City, who still hope to keep their prized asset for the 2026-27 season. Rodri is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, known for his passing, composure, aerial dominance and stamina. He has played a pivotal role in Man City’s success since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2019. His honours include four Premier League titles, a Champions League, two FA Cups and three League Cups. Rodri struggled to rediscover his form after recovering from an ACL injury in 2024, but he was back to his best at the World Cup. The 30-year-old started all eight matches for his country at the World Cup, as Luis de la Fuente’s side lifted the golden trophy on Sunday, beating Argentina 1-0 in the final .
