Liverpool now 'lurking' for the transfer of €60m star, Man United also want him

Liverpool now 'lurking' for the transfer of €60m star, Man United also want him Liverpool only have around a month or so left until their first Premier League game of the season. The Reds are set to face Newcastle United on 23 August in a game which is likely to be full of fireworks. However, at the moment, Liverpool's fans aren't probably all that excited about the upcoming season as, even though they were promised a busy summer transfer window, that is not what they have received. Indeed, two new players will be featuring in Andoni Iraola's squad during their pre-season friendlies but, since three players have already exited and more are supposed to be on their way out, Liverpool still have an awful lot of work to do. So, the fact that they're being linked with many different players is kind of reassuring. But, unless they actually get some deals over the line, they're going to be left behind by their title rivals and potentially end up even worse off than the 2025-26 season. Liverpool are now eyeing a potential move for Oskar Pietuszewski Oskar Pietuszewski is a player that most Liverpool fans aren't likely to have heard of. The Polish attacker currently plies his trade for FC Porto and has quickly become one of their most important forwards. He's only 18 years old but, since he's already got a season of Liga Portugal football under his belt, he's already fairly far ahead of most other players in his age category. Pietuszewski's main position is on the left-wing but, he has also been used on the right throughout his career. This versatility coupled with his massive potential are likely to be two of the main reasons that Fussball Daten have shared an update Liverpool's interest in him. "Porto's biggest bargaining chip at the negotiating table is the €60 million release clause in the player's contract," they wrote. "Given the interest from top European clubs, the Portuguese club is immediately pointing to this clause. "Due to the player's potential and his contractual situation, the club's management is strictly opposed to accepting a transfer fee below this amount. Therefore, the room for negotiation remains extremely limited. "The competition for his transfer is not limited to Borussia Dortmund and FC Porto. "Besides the financially powerful Premier League clubs Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United, Bayern Munich and the Spanish top club Atlético Madrid also have the young Polish talent on their radar. "The interest from so many top international clubs and the player's inclusion on their shortlists makes it considerably more difficult for Pietuszewski to make a clear decision about his future. "His entourage prefers a project where he can play regularly. At the same time, the enormous financial resources and attractive sporting prospects offered by the major European clubs make the decision-making process significantly more complicated." Oskar Pietuszewski would be a bold transfer from Liverpool Pietuszewski may have only joined Porto during the January transfer window but, his form has caught the attention of many of Europe's biggest clubs. Of course, with how much Yan Diomande is going for this summer (over €110 million) every other club in the world is trying to find their own version of the Ivorian. Pietuszewski is fast, has a keen eye for goal and is also very versatile. Each of these assets are things that could help him become one of the Premier League's best wingers in the future. Of course, he's not quite there just yet so any club that purchases him will be investing in his potential rather than the player he is now but, if he meets his potential or even succeeds it, the €60 million that they spend to bring him in will seem like a good deal. However, since he only contributed to seven goals in the 18 games that he played for the Liga Pportugal outfit, it's unclear whether he'd be able to suitably fill the void left by Mohamed Salah 's exit at the moment. Filling the void left by Salah is going to be one of the hardest things that Richard Hughes and Iraola will need to do so, if fans don't see anyone coming in until the dying embers of the window, they shouldn't be too surprised.
