OUR ORIGINAL PIN During the upcoming season, AC Milan will celebrate the Club's 127th anniversary (shortly before the beginning of 2027 ). With such a rich history, it is only natural to look back and reflect on what the Club was experiencing exactly 100 years ago. Today, everyday life revolves around PINs and passwords, codes that grant access to the tools and services we rely on. But AC Milan already had its own "Pin" back in 1927 . On 3 April 1927, in the final matchweek of that season's league, the Rossoneri claimed a 2-1 away victory over Inter in front of 20,000 fans, thanks to a brace from "Pin" Santagostino. The side, coached by Burgess, was built around captain Gianangelo Barzan and included key figures such as Ostromann and Savelli. But "Pin" was  the  Pin. He was the one who unlocked everything, the key to success. Born in Milan in 1901, Santagostino spent  11 seasons  in the Rossoneri shirt, scoring  105 goals in 235 appearances . He burst onto the scene, and despite a slight dip due to injuries, he ultimately returned to his previous prolific goalscoring standards. A product of AC Milan's youth academy, Santagostino quickly became one of the Club's most dedicated servants. In the  1927/28  campaign alone, he scored  24 goals in 32 matches . Though well sought-after, "Pin" repeatedly turned down opportunities to leave, choosing instead to continue pursuing success with the Club he loved. Between 1907 and 1951, AC Milan experienced several difficult periods, but Santagostino remained one of the Club's defining figures throughout. A Rossonero through and through, he would later return as a coach. Before moving into management, however, he spent a season with Nice where, fittingly enough, he once again wore red and black.
