There is, however, a chance that he can renew his deal midway through the 2026-27 season. It is a situation the club dread but feel forced to accept given the player’s stubbornness to compromise. As matters stand, the situation is thus growing complicated and it remains to be seen if the two parties can reach an agreement once the player is back. The summer talks for either a renewal or a departure will be the first priority, and a mid-season renewal option will only be explored if both fail.
