Cannes began to push hard and the 10 men of Roma struggled to keep afloat, conceding to a ferocious Julien Lopez volley into the roof of the net. The Italian defence was caught napping late on for another Lopez goal, then Brice Oggad converted a last-gasp penalty for the Artem Dovbyk foul, for the final 3-3 result.
