Feyenoord not willing to allow young star to join Nottingham Forest until Premier League club increases its bid
Feyenoord not willing to allow young star to join Nottingham Forest until Premier League club increases its bid As reported by ESPN , Feyenoord are holding out over selling young star Givairo Read to Nottingham Forest. The Eredivisie side want Nottingham Forest to pay more than the offered €19m, even though the original offer could have rises to €21m with bonuses. Read has already agreed personal terms with Nottingham Forest, making it clear he is keen on a move to the Premier League. Feyenoord’s new sporting director Devy Rigaux is, however, not budging until Nottingham Forest increase their offer. Read, who is still only 20, joined Feyenoord back in 2024 after coming through the youth system at FC Volendam . However, he only played once for the Volendam first team and made his Feyenoord debut during the 2023/2024 season. During the 2024/2025 season he emerged as a highly talented prospect, playing 33 games for the club with three goals and seven assists. Last year, Read played 20 games for the club, scoring twice and providing three assists. His current contract with Feyenoord runs until 2029, meaning the club are in no hurry to sell him to Nottingham Forest. However, that the player desires to go will mean that at some point, Rigaux may have to give a little to allow the transfer to go through. GBeNeFN | Ben Jackson
