Goldsworthy extends Somerset deal to 2028

Lewis Goldsworthy scored his third List A century in Somerset's most recent One-Day Cup outing [Getty Images] Somerset all-rounder Lewis Goldsworthy has signed a new deal to stay with the club until the end of the 2028 season. Goldworthy has played 132 matches across all formats for Somerset since his first-class debut in 2021, having joined the club's academy five years previously. In total the 25-year-old has scored 3,675 runs and taken 75 wickets. He is currently captaining Somerset's One-Day Cup team, scoring a century in their most recent win against Warwickshire. "Lewis is an impactful all-round cricketer who is a fiercely competitive," said Somerset director of cricket Andy Hurry. "His ability to influence matches across the formats with both bat and ball, as well as in the field, makes him a key member of the squad. "He is someone who is constantly looking to improve, and we believe he will play an important role over the next few years as we seek to achieve our on-field goals."
