They have already secured the signings of Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon, but Julian Alvarez remains the top striker target and they are no closer on that front than they were a month ago. As matters stand, Ferran Torres is the club’s only centre-forward option. He too, however, has been linked with a departure to PSG and the club are seriously exploring other available profiles on the market . After all, the Catalans have had him on their radar for a long time now and the administration appreciates his profile. The outlet adds that the move may well be dependent on Torres leaving, and that Barcelona will certainly push for his signing if the World Cup winner leaves. There is, however, also a strong chance that they push for his acquisition even if Torres does not leave. A good economic fit The player has a favourable release clause. The player’s current clause stands at close to €29 million, a sum seen as very reasonable in the current market. Needless to say, they will look to sign him for even lower than the clause should they opt to push. As matters stand, there is no set deadline until which Asllani will wait. Leipzig, however, are undoubtedly pushing to complete his acquisition at the earliest and it remains to be seen how long he can hold off that pressure. The ball is now in the Catalans’ court for the two-footed striker who brings a much-needed killer instinct and physicality to the box.
