Official | Hofenheim send striker Gift Orban (24) to Turkey on loan, pocket fee and secure mandatory purchase option Hoffenheim striker Gift Orban’s reported-on transfer to Turkish outfit Amed SK Diyarbakir has been officially confirmed. Kicker reports that Orban’s Bundesliga parent club have pocketed a €1m loan fee as part of the arrangement. The newly promoted Turkish club will also pay €4m to acquire the 24-year-old permanently under an obligatory purchase option triggered if they avoid relegation. Hoffenheim continue to recoup the €9m they initially invested in the former Lyon attacker in small increments. Orban’s most recent loan – to Hellas Verona in Serie A – enabled €500,000 to flow into the TSG coffers via a loan fee. In Italy, Orban could not help I Mastini avoid relegation. An €8m purchase option was thus not exercised. Orban scored four Bundesliga goals in his initial six appearances for die Kraichgauer and quickly earned a starting place in head coach Christian Ilzer’s starting XI during the latter half of the 2024/25 campaign. Unfortunately, he would not strike again for Ilzer’s team after the 23rd matchday in late February. Orban’s estimated market value has declined from its peak of €10m to €7m in the latest Transfermarkt listings. GGFN | Peter Weis
