Defender Grec leaves Newcastle United

Defender Grec leaves Newcastle United Newcastle United defender Malgorzata Grec has left the club by mutual consent ahead of the new season. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this morning. The Polish international defender joined Newcastle United last summer off the back of a spell with French Arkema Première Ligue club Dijon FCO. She went on to make seven appearances for the Tynesiders in all competitions throughout the 2025/2026 campaign, helping the club to record a mid-table finish in Barclays WSL2. With Newcastle United now preparing for the new season, it has been determined that Grec will take up a fresh challenge. While the player’s next move has not yet been confirmed, it seems highly likely that she will opt for a new club outside of the English game. Grec started her senior career back home in her native Poland with KŚ AZS Wrocław before joining Górnik Łęczna. The player then moved to Austrian club SKN St. Pölten before spending three years in France with Dijon FCO. Grec then moved into the English game for the first time with Newcastle United last summer. Further Newcastle United squad news will be announced by the club in due course.
