We won La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup, and this year I won the World Cup, so obviously the objective for next season is the Champions League,” he said. “The World Cup is the biggest trophy in international football, and the Champions League is the closest equivalent at club level. Becoming obsessed isn’t good because the negative effect can be very big if you don’t achieve the objective,” he explained. “But we have a lot of confidence that we can do it.” Trust in Deco’s transfer plans The goalkeeper was also asked about Barcelona’s interest in Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez but refused to speculate on transfer business. “Those are things that don’t depend on us. There are many situations we don’t know about, and it would be a mistake to speak without knowing,” he said. “Personally, I have a lot of confidence in Deco and his sporting department.
