Roma one step away from signing Wolfsburg’s Koulierakis: agreement on €15 million fee Roma isn’t just making moves in attack. Following Castro’s arrival and the negotiations for Ezzalzouli, sporting director Tony D’Amico is also considering strengthening other areas of the defense. According to Ugo Trani on the “ Te la do io Tokyo” program, the Giallorossi are now very close to finalizing a deal for Kostantinos Koulierakis, a 2003-born central defender currently playing for Wolfsburg. The Giallorossi have identified the young Greek defender as the ideal candidate to strengthen their defense, aiming to partner Mario Hermoso and secure him a role as a backup in the defensive rotation, one of Gasperini’s explicit requests for the transfer market. The deal is expected to close on a permanent basis for a fee close to €15 million. Roma have reportedly accelerated the deal in the last few hours to beat out the competition and close the deal before the start of the training camp in Wales. According to Alfredo Pedullà, several Premier League and La Liga clubs are also reportedly interested in the defender.
