He was loaned out to Nottingham Forest last summer, but the agreement was terminated after he struggled for playing time at the City Ground.  Luiz returned to Aston Villa on loan and featured in 20 matches, including the Europa League final win against Freiburg.  However, the Midlands club decided not to take the option to re-sign the midfielder permanently.  Luiz, who has three years left on his contract at Juventus, is open to staying at the Serie A club but wants a guarantee of playing time, which looks unlikely at the moment.  His dream is a transfer to United, who are looking to add a third midfielder after signing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.  Casemiro has left the club on a free transfer and Manuel Ugarte has picked up a serious injury while playing for Uruguay at the World Cup.  United were linked with a move for Luiz last summer , but nothing materialised in the end. It remains to be seen if they reignite their interest in the Brazilian footballer.  Michael Carrick’s side wanted to sign Alex Scott earlier this summer, but they appear to have abandoned their pursuit of the 22-year-old due to Bournemouth’s high valuation.   The Red Devils have shifted their focus towards Roma’s Manu Kone, who represents a cheaper alternative for them.  Kone has given the green light to join the Premier League club , but they have yet to agree a fee with Roma.  Stats from Transfermarkt
