The 30-year-old scored 13 times in 66 games in three years at Spurs. Thomas spent the second half of last season on loan at Liverpool and has also played for Manchester United and West Ham in the Women's Super League (WSL). "I'm really excited - it's a really big club to play for. "I want to compete [with] and play for the best teams," Thomas said. "Team culture is really important to me and I think I bring some good attributes to help push standards." Newcastle finished sixth in WSL 2 last season after failing to win any of their final six games. This summer leading scorer Emily Murphy has left for Brighton, but Newcastle have signed nine players. "Martha is a proven striker both in the WSL and internationally," manager Tanya Oxtoby said. "She is a physical striker and adds outstanding work-rate to the squad. "She has shown that she has the ability to score all kinds of goals." How Newcastle United are plotting a course to the WSL Get the latest WSL news on our dedicated page
