Arsenal Are In Advanced Talks To Land This Newcastle United Midfielder: Should Arteta Move In For Him? In a recent post on X , journalist Ben Jacobs mentioned that Arsenal are in advanced talks to land Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. It has been claimed that the Gunners are eyeing a move to bring the Brazilian talent to the Emirates Stadium this off-season. Guimaraes’ Impressive Form In The Premier League Guimaraes enjoyed a good run of form at the Tyneside club in the previous campaign when he put in a string of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 28-year-old scored nine times and earned eight assists in 41 matches for Newcastle last season in multiple competitions. The Brazilian talent is currently among the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Hence, it makes sense for the Gunners to try and get him on board this summer as they prepare to defend their Premier League crown next season. His current contract at St. James’ Park will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for Arsenal to sign him on the cheap later this year. Guimaraes is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is a tidy passer as well. The Brazilian talent can shoot the ball with power from long range and has the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. Guimaraes is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder if needed. We can expect Guimaraes to add more quality and depth to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the North London club next season and is already quite familiar with the Premier League. At 28, Guimaraes is playing in his prime, which makes him a worthy target for the Gunners to consider in this transfer window. Hence, Arteta would be wise to move in for him this summer.
