Cardiff youngster George reunited with Purse at Sligo Rovers
[Getty Images] Cardiff City youngster Trey George has joined League of Ireland outfit Sligo Rovers on loan until 1 January, a move that sees him reunite with Darren Purse. Purse, Cardiff's former under-21 manager, recently left the Bluebirds to join the Irish club and has made attacking midfielder George as his second signing. George, 20, joined Cardiff at the age of eight and made his first-team debut in the Vertu Trophy against Arsenal's under-21s last November. The Merthyr Tydfil native marked his maiden appearance by scoring the third goal in a 3-1 victory. "Darren's had a massive influence on my career so far," said George. "He was heavily involved in me getting my first professional contract, so we know each other very well, and I know how he does things."
