Roma abandon striker pursuit after Club Brugge reject offer of €35m while Manchester United and Chelsea remain interested HLN are reporting that Roma have abandoned their pursuit of Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi after Club Brugge rejected a bid of €35m for the young forward. However, the 21-year-old remains of interest to both Manchester United and Chelsea, although neither side has been ready to make an offer for the forward just yet. Tresoldi only joined Club Brugge last summer from German second division side Hannover 96. After 14 goals in 80 games for Hannover, Tresoldi had a real breakout season with Club Brugge. The 21-year-old fired the side to their 20th Belgian top flight title with an impressive 23 goals in 58 games. What is more, it is clear that Tresoldi does not look like the finished article just yet. It is clear why sides like Roma, Manchester United and Chelsea would be monitoring the progress of the young German forward. If he remains with Club Brugge and has another stelar season, he could follow in the footsteps of Christos Tzolis and earn himself a move to the Premier League. GBeNeFN  |  Ben Jackson
