Ajax’s Fitz-Jim en route to Torino transfer
Ajax’s Fitz-Jim en route to Torino transfer Kian Fitz-Jim is nearing a transfer to Torino for a reported three million euros after Ajax failed to negotiate a new contract. Last winter, Fitz-Jim was close to a Bundesliga switch, but the move ultimately failed to materialise. Around this time, he was in talks about extending his contract in Amsterdam. However, these eventually stalled, and it now looks like he’ll be playing Serie A football this season. Due to the midfielder’s current deal expiring next summer, Ignazio Abate’s Torino can pick him up for three million euros. With this departure, Fitz-Jim brings an end to seven years with Ajax and becomes the club’s fourth midfield exit alongside Branco van den Boomen, Sivert Mannsverk, and Sean Steur. Following 2019’s move from AZ’s youth set-up and a loan spell at Excelsior, the academy graduate Fitz-Jim broke into the Amsterdam club’s first team under Francesco Farioli. He ultimately played 72 official matches, with 22 competitive appearances arriving last term, in which he contributed one goal. GBeNeFN | Max Bradfield
