Real Madrid sell academy defender Victor Valdepenas to Fiorentina in €8m deal
Real Madrid sell academy defender Victor Valdepenas to Fiorentina in €8m deal Real Madrid have seen several of their players from the last season leaving their team over the summer. David Alaba and Dani Carvajal both left after completing their contracts at the end of the last season, while Dani Ceballos’ contract was terminated by mutual consent. Fran Garcia has been one of the few first team players whose departure brought in some money for the Merengue club, as they sold 50% of his rights to Real Betis for €4 million . However, Los Blancos have earned a significant amount of money from the sales of some of their academy players. In fact, they are close to reaching the €200 million mark from their academy-trained players this summer. In this regard, Real Madrid completed the transfers of Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios to the Premier League side Fulham yesterday. As MARCA has reported, another sale they completed yesterday was that of another academy graduate, Victor Valdepenas, as Real Madrid announced that they have sold his 50% rights to Fiorentina for €8 million. The defender was one of the great discoveries of Alvaro Arbeloa in the Juvenil A team. Raul promoted him to his Castilla side, and he remained a part of the reserve team during the last season. However, he was again a part of the Juvenil A team and helped them win the UEFA Youth League last season. Having joined the club back in 2018 when he was only 11 years old, he made his debut with the first team last season. With this transfer, he embarks on a major new chapter in his career, and hopefully, he will take full advantage of this move to continue growing and showcasing his talent at the highest level in Italy. Retaining 50% of his rights, Real Madrid will be hoping to see him explode in the coming years so they can gain a significant sum for him in the future.
