McBurnie goal continues Hull City's unbeaten pre-season run
[Getty Images] Oli McBurnie scored in consecutive pre-season fixtures as Hull City were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa. Tunisia international Mortadha Ben Ouanes broke the deadlock between the two sides just after the half-time break with a sweetly struck half-volley that beat goalkeeper Jack Butland. But striker McBurnie was on hand to pull the Tigers back level with a right-footed volley into the bottom corner, just three minutes after the opener. Hull City manager Sergej Jakirovic made nine second-half substitutions to get minutes into as many legs as possible, while 26-year-old Regan Slater wore the captain's armband for the majority of the match. "I was pleased with the game, especially in the first half, because we played good and we controlled everything," Jakirovic said. "We were just missing the end product in the last third because we did create some good chances. "After our substitutions, we lost a bit of tempo but we gave all of our players minutes which is important at this stage. It feels like 1-1 is a fair result." The Tigers, who are unbeaten in pre-season with two wins and a draw against Turkish Super Lig opposition, head to Germany to face Frankfurt next week.
