Official | Juventus complete €35m signing of Bayer Leverkusen talent Kerim Alajbegović Juventus have officially completed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen attacking talent Kerim Alajbegović. The 18-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international has signed a five-year contract with the Italian record champions through 2031. Juventus confirmed a guaranteed transfer fee of €30m, payable across four instalments. Performance-related bonuses could increase the fee to €35m, while the deal also contains approximately €2m in additional costs. Alajbegović selected Juventus despite a late intervention from Chelsea . Atalanta, Napoli, and several other Italian clubs had also expressed interest in the winger. Leverkusen brought Alajbegović back from RB Salzburg earlier this summer by activating an approximately €8m buyback clause. He registered 13 goals and four assists in 44 appearances in Austria but departs without making a competitive senior appearance for Die Werkself. The winger previously contributed 38 goals and 19 assists in 78 matches for Leverkusen’s under-17 and under-19 sides. Alajbegović’s departure represents an extraordinary return on Leverkusen’s brief reinvestment. Die Werkself have also continued strengthening their squad, recently wrapping up a €30m deal for Napoli left-back Miguel Gutiérrez . Statement on Kerim Alajbegovic’s move “Kerim made further significant progress in Salzburg following his time in our academy,” Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes noted in a club statement. “At the same time, we had to realistically assess that the competition in our squad is very strong. Against this backdrop and considering the overall transfer package, we approved the move.” GGFN | Peter Weis
