Barcelona top target’s relationship with Diego Simeone remains tense despite Atletico Madrid’s stance Although the Real Madrid leg of the Julian Alvarez appears to be over, with the Los Blancos unlikely to come up with an improved offer , Barcelona’s problems remain. Atletico Madrid have shown a strong front in public, refusing to negotiate with any clubs, especially Barcelona and Real Madrid, regarding Alvarez unless clubs are willing to meet his half a billion release clause. Despite the club’s stance, though, the underlying tension between Alvarez and Atletico Madrid is still there, with the player having a tense relationship with coach Diego Simeone. Moretto went on to double down on his claim despite citing other reports that suggest Alvarez does not have any problem continuing at Atletico Madrid. He adds that Alvarez has already spoken to Atletico Madrid regarding his intentions to leave and join Barcelona next season. He has also spoken to Barça privately, inforning of his desire to wear the Blaugrana shirt next season, all the while showing no interest to play for Real Madrid. What’s next for Alvarez? Atletico Madrid’s asking price is simply way too high. The club’s only hope is that Alvarez himself speaks out publicly about his situation at Atleti and that he wants to leave the club this summer. This could pressurise Atletico Madrid into selling the player, who will remain steadfast on a move to Camp Nou rather than anywhere else. The coming few weeks, to that end, could be crucial.
