Tottenham talent Mikey Moore on the verge of joining 1. FC Köln on loan Fabrizio Romano and Marlon Irlbacher are currently both reporting that Tottenham attacking talent Mikey Moore may be on the verge of a Bundesliga move. Romano goes so far as to suggest that talks with 1. FC Köln are at an “advanced stage”. Irlbacher claims Moore favors a move to the Geißbockheim. A deal could be completed soon. Several other clubs have expressed interest in the 18-year-old, but the Bundesliga side presently appear to occupy a strong position in the race for his signature.Another temporary transfer would enable Moore to continue accumulating senior experience while remaining part of Tottenham’s long-term plans. The England youth international spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan with Rangers and gradually established himself as one of the Scottish club’s most highly regarded young players. Mikey Moore pursuit intersects with Said El Mala saga Köln’s interest in Moore inevitably raises further questions concerning El Mala’s future. Borussia Dortmund recently submitted a substantial offer for the 19-year-old, but Köln rejected the proposal without hesitation . Die Geißböcke continue to demand at least €50m for their attacking star. Reports differ on the construction of Dortmund’s bid. Sport Bild placed the package at €34m plus another €6m in bonuses. Sky Germany reported a significantly lower guaranteed sum of €26m, supplemented by up to €16m in add-ons. Only approximately half of the Sky-reported bonus payments were considered realistically achievable. Dortmund subsequently declined to improve their offer and began exploring alternative attacking targets. El Mala has nevertheless signalled a willingness to join Dortmund , meaning that a prolonged transfer saga remains possible. The Köln academy product contributed 13 goals and five assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances during his breakout campaign. Moore could theoretically serve as a replacement for El Mala, but the Englishman’s arrival would not necessarily confirm that a sale is imminent. A temporary deal would also provide Köln with additional attacking depth while allowing the club to retain its most valuable player. The two teenagers could operate together on opposite flanks. Moore’s versatility would also permit him to feature behind a centre-forward or rotate with El Mala on the left. Moore excelled during Rangers loan Moore joined Tottenham’s academy at the age of seven and progressed rapidly through the club’s youth ranks. He became Tottenham’s youngest Premier League player when he made his senior debut against Manchester City in May 2024. The London native made 21 competitive first-team appearances before moving to Rangers. He also scored his first senior goal against Elfsborg during Tottenham’s successful 2024/25 Europa League campaign. Moore initially required time to adjust to senior football in Scotland but became increasingly influential as the season progressed. He concluded his Rangers loan with seven goals across 47 competitive appearances. His performances earned him Rangers’ Men’s Young Player of the Year award. Moore was also named the PFA Scotland Men’s Young Player of the Year. The 18-year-old offers acceleration, close control, and direct one-on-one ability. He can operate on either attacking flank and is comfortable carrying the ball into central areas. Those qualities would provide Köln with another unpredictable attacking option, particularly against opponents defending in deeper blocks. The move would also continue the club’s recent efforts to recruit highly regarded young talent from England. Köln have already added Manchester City prospects Jahmai Simpson-Pusey and Reigan Heskey this summer. Moore would represent another ambitious addition to the club’s developing squad. Tottenham continue to regard Moore as an important long-term prospect, making a permanent transfer unlikely. A Bundesliga loan would nevertheless offer the teenager regular top-flight football and the chance to continue his development in a highly competitive environment. Romano and Irlbacher both consider Köln well positioned to complete the deal.
