Foxes all-rounder De Swardt returns to South Africa

Leicestershire Foxes all-rounder Ruan de Swardt has returned home to South Africa after suffering an injury against Notts Outlaws in the One-Day Cup. The 28-year-old sustained an injury in his quadriceps while bowling and was forced to leave the field of play during the match. De Swardt could only get through two overs as the Foxes went down to a five-wicket defeat at Trent Bridge on Tuesday. Just two days prior, De Swardt struck 126 against Lancashire at Grace Road in a 21-run defeat. That impressive knock helped convince Leicestershire to extend his stay at the club for the rest of their One-Day Cup campaign. A club statement read: "Everyone at Leicestershire County Cricket Club would like to thank Ruan for his contribution during his time with the Foxes and wish him a full and speedy recovery as he returns home to South Africa."
