Boston sign ex-Derby striker Wheeldon
Lennon Wheeldon had recently been on trial at League Two side Northampton Town [Getty Images] Boston United have signed striker Lennon Wheeldon, following his release from Championship side Derby County. The 20‑year‑old re‑joins the Pilgrims on a one‑year deal, with an option for a second, having previously spent three months on loan at the club during the 2024-25 season. Wheeldon also had a loan spell at South Shields last term, making 33 appearances and scoring five goals. He made three senior appearances for Derby before his release in May and had been on trial with League Two Northampton Town prior to agreeing his move to Boston.
