Swansea seal loan swoop for Benfica's Parente

Swansea City have completed the loan signing of defender Tiago Parente from Benfica. The left-back, 20, will spend the duration of the 2026-27 campaign with the Swans - who hold the option to buy the defender. "We are pleased to bring in Tiago to provide us with competition and another option in the left-back position," said head coach Vitor Matos. "He is a talented young player who is excited by the chance to test himself in a different environment, we are happy to have him here and look forward to bringing him into our squad." The boss confirmed the addition would be to provide cover for regular first-choice left-back Josh Tymon. He is available to feature in the club's Carabao Cup first round encounter with Birmingham City in south Wales on Saturday (15:00 BST).
