Gimenez targeted by Lazio and FC Porto, Milan uncertain on loan idea Milan have received approaches from both FC Porto and Lazio for Santiago Gimenez, but it depends on whether they would be prepared to let the striker leave on loan. The Mexico international was a strong investment in January 2025 when signed from Feyenoord for €30.2m plus add-ons, but failed to live up to expectations. There are currently two clubs being mentioned who have made approaches to see about his availability. Sportitalia transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà points to Lazio , who would only be able to take the centre-forward on a dry loan , without an option to buy. This could give him the chance to play regularly in Serie A and get used to the league, then perhaps increase his resale value. The other candidate is FC Porto , who are struggling with the injury to Samu Aghehowa Omorodion and require an alternative. Agent Jorge Mendes, who also orchestrated the Goncalo Ramos move, is helping to organise the negotiations. It remains to be seen if Milan would accept a loan without an obligation to buy at the end of the season, as they need sales to raise funds for other reinforcements.
