Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool will hold 'new contacts' with 'superb' star soon

Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool will hold 'new contacts' with 'superb' star soon Liverpool have only made one signing so far this summer. Victor Munoz has been brought in to try and help boost the Reds' ranks and add some depth to their attacking line. Indeed, Jeremy Jacquet has also been brought in but, since his transfer was confirmed back in January, he doesn't really count as a summer transfer. The fact that the Reds have only made two additions is massively worrying, especially when before the window even opened, fans were promised another rebuild. Of course, a lot of change occurred in L4 last term with the club spending over £450 million but, since Arne Slot failed to play to the strengths of his team, they performed poorly. This led to the club massively underperforming and put them in a situation where even more money needs to be spent. Several players have obviously already been linked with a switch but now, 'new contacts' have emerged for one of the Reds' long-term targets. Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool will take more steps towards signing Bradley Barcola this week One of Liverpool's main problem areas is their attack. Mohamed Salah has exited and, since Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak both failed to live up to expectations last term , their attack is fairly week. The fact that Cody Gakpo could also be about to exit is another problem as it means they'll be even shorter up top. This lack of depth has led to several attackers being linked with a Liverpool switch and now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that 'new contacts' between Liverpool and Bradley Barcola will occur this week. "Next week new contacts are prepared between Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain for Bradley Barcola," he said . "My feeling is this isn’t going to be something imminent, so I don’t expect a 'Here We Go' on Monday or Tuesday. There is still work to do between the clubs, so there is a possibility this is going to be a saga in this summer transfer window. Bradley Barcola is the perfect player for Liverpool to target this summer Most of Liverpool's transfer targets this summer have been young players with plenty of potential to fulfil. Jacquet and Munoz are perfect examples of this as, even though they've been key for their current clubs during the 2025-26 season, they're both still under 23 years old which means that they have a lot of potential. Neither of them are finished products so, it's clear that there's plenty of time for them to reach expectations. But, if Liverpool want to get back to the top of the Premier League table and want to start challenging for silverware again, they need players who can make an impact now. That's why Barcola would be a perfect addition. The Frenchman is now a two-time Champions League winner and has contributed to many goals over the last couple of seasons. Indeed, he would cost the Reds a hefty chunk of change to bring in but, at the moment, there aren't really any better options than the ' superb ' winger on the market. Others such as Yan Diomande and Ferran Torres have been linked but, since they look set to join other clubs, the Reds' options are thinning. There's no knowing what the future has in store but, if the Reds can get a deal for Barcola over the line this summer, it'll massively improve their chances of getting back to their best this term.
