Cliftonville beat Glentoran to go five points clear

Cliftonville moved five points clear at the top of the Women's Premiership table with a 3-1 victory over title rivals Glentoran. The Reds went into the game at Solitude just two points ahead of the Glens, who had a game in hand thanks to their Champions League campaign. It looked like Glentoran would hit back from their European exit when Gracie Conway converted Mia Moore's cross for the reigning champions in the 48th minute. But Cliftonville levelled ten minutes later when Teegan Lynch netted for the hosts. The in-form forward grabbed her second goal of the game in the 63rd minute to turn the game on its head. Northern Ireland midfielder Louise McDaniel made sure of the win with 10 minutes left to inflict a first league defeat of the season on Glentoran. It was a big win for Cliftonville to take them five points clear of Linfield and Glentoran, who both have a game in hand over the Reds. Linfield's superior goal difference of 13 has Ryan McConville's side ahead of their Belfast rivals.
