Leeds veteran Watkins extends deal
Kallum Watkins has made 23 appearances for Leeds Rhinos this season [Getty Images] Leeds Rhinos veteran Kallum Watkins has extended his deal through to the end of next season. The 35-year-old centre, who made his 350th Super League appearance in last Friday's win over Toulouse Olympique, rejoined the Rhinos from Salford in April last year. The England international started his career with Leeds and made his debut for the club against Celtic Crusaders in April 2008, aged 17. "Kallum is exactly the type of player every coach wants in their squad," head coach Brad Arthur told the club website. "His standards are outstanding and he leads through his actions every single day. "He's an experienced player who still performs at a high level, but what impresses me most is the example he sets around training and the way he helps develop the younger members of our squad."
