Norgaard left out as Everton move nears
[Getty Images] Christian Norgaard has been left out of Arsenal's squad for the friendly against Real Betis in Dublin as he nears a move to Everton. Reports suggest that Norgaard is set to move to the Toffees for a fee of around £7m. The 32-year-old was with the Arsenal squad for their 4-1 win over Girona last week but did not play any part in the match and is now set for a medical with Everton. Norgaard signed for the Gunners last summer for an initial £10m with the possibility of £5m in add ons. However he found game time hard to come by and made just seven appearances in the league as Arsenal won the title. His only start of the league campaign came on the final day of last season. Norgaard's character and experience around the training ground has been repeatedly been praised by Mikel Arteta. And with the midfielder now into the last year of his contract, the club have decided to sell him. Arsenal are also moving closer to agreeing a deal for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
