Retired Taylor named head of refereeing in Turkey

The 47-year-old said he was "delighted" to be taking up the role. "I am delighted to be joining the Turkish Football Federation and look forward to the opportunity ahead," he said. Taylor last month announced his retirement from a 20-year refereeing career after taking charge of Spain's 1-0 win over Portugal in the World Cup last 16 on 6 July. He took charge of 668 professional domestic matches and also refereed at Euro 2020, along with the 2022 and 2026 World Cups.
