Jesse Bisiwu elated after Barcelona contract signing: ‘It is a dream come true for me’ FC Barcelona announced the signing of teenage winger Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge over the weekend. The 18-year-old prodigy has arrived in a deal worth €8.5 million, signing a five-year contract until 2031, and has already begun working with the first-team setup. Earlier today, Bisiwu’s official contract signing and presentation took place at the club facilities’, with club president Joan Laporta, vice president Rafa Yuste, and sporting director Deco in attendance. The 18-year-old winger spoke to Barça’s media channels shortly after putting pen to paper and expressed his excitement about beginning the next chapter of his career. (Photo courtesy: FC Barcelona official website) Bisiwu admitted the move means a great deal to him after dreaming of playing for a club like Barcelona since childhood. “Being here and seeing it for myself is a different feeling, I’m very happy to be here,” the youngster said. He added: “When I was young I always dreamed of playing for a big club like Barça, so being here is a dream come true for me.” Bisiwu also revealed that settling into his new surroundings has been made much easier thanks to the reception he has received from everyone at the club. “My first few days have been great. I’ve been welcomed by a wonderful family and I’m very grateful for that,” adding, “They’ve welcomed me so warmly, everyone is so friendly, and I’m very thankful.” Early talks with Flick Bisiwu also confirmed that he has already spoken with head coach Hansi Flick, who has made clear what he expects from the young winger this season. The Belgian prodigy further stressed that he is fully focused on earning opportunities through hard work rather than setting personal targets, saying: “Everyone has been very attentive, and I’m very grateful. This season I will work hard and give my best, and we’ll see how the season goes. I want to give my all for this badge.” He also emphasised that he intends to be ready whenever called upon, adding: “When the coach needs me, I’ll be there; I just want to work hard to be ready.” Although he has already completed his move to Barcelona and trained under Flick, Bisiwu admitted there is still one experience he is eagerly awaiting. “I’ve seen the Spotify Camp Nou on TV, but not yet in person,” he noted.
