Liverpool pushing to sign PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye Liverpool are pushing to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye, according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins . The Reds are now expected to begin negotiations with PSG for the Senegalese winger. The French giants are willing to sell him. Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in the 18-year-old. The German side were close to securing a deal, but the young forward is now prioritising a move to Liverpool . RB Leipzig almost signed Mbaye, but the deal collapsed after PSG withdrew their interest in Yan Diomande. Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the France-born forward as well. Mbaye joined PSG from French lower-division side Versailles at the age of 10. He progressed through the youth ranks before breaking into the first team in 2024/25. He has made 42 appearances across all competitions for the Parisians, scoring four goals and providing four assists. Mbaye made his senior debut for Senegal in 2025. He is the Teranga Lions’ youngest-ever goalscorer at the Africa Cup of Nations and the youngest African goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history. The Senegalese is right-footed, but primarily plays on the right flank and can also operate on the left wing. He is renowned for his explosive pace, excellent dribbling, composure, movement and high work rate. Mbaye has struggled to secure regular playing time at PSG, and he is open to leaving the club this summer. Liverpool could be the perfect destination for Mbaye, with the Reds looking to sign a right winger following Mohamed Salah’s departure. Meanwhile, Andoni Iraola’s side remain interested in Mbaye’s PSG teammate Bradley Barcola, but must reach a compromise with the French champions over his valuation before a deal can be completed.
