Hall sale would be 'a red line'
[Getty Images] Newcastle "really can't afford to lose" left-back Lewis Hall after the high-profile exits they have suffered recently, says BBC Sport's Magpies reporter Ciaran Kelly. Captain Bruno Guimaraes looks set to be the latest senior figure to depart the club, following Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and head coach Eddie Howe already this summer. Hall, 21, has impressed since his arrival from Chelsea in 2023, but has been strongly linked with a move back to the Blues and with Manchester United . "I look at Lewis Hall and I think that is a red line," Kelly told BBC Radio Newcastle. "If they were to lose Hall on top of the players who have already left in the last year then what would be left? "There would be a lot of unproven players and at this rate Newcastle are going to be relying on players like Hall. He is still very young but he has reasonable Premier League experience, he knows what it means to play for Newcastle, and he is a fine left-back. "I have no doubt he will get back into the England squad. You really have to hold onto him and he feels like someone they really can't afford to lose, especially with just a few weeks to go until the start of the season."
