[BBC] The Uefa Super Cup is a yearly match between the winners of the Champions League and Europa League. This year's cup will be contested by back-to-back Champions League winners and reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris St-Germain, and first-time Europa League champions Aston Villa. Here is all you need to know about the upcoming fixture. Where and when is the match being played? The 30,000 capacity stadium is home to RB Salzburg and is also referred to as Stadion Salzburg during Uefa events. This is for both sponsorship regulations and to differentiate it from the RB Arena in Leipzig, Germany, which hosted the 2026 Europa Conference League final . Omar Artan was the 2025 Confederation of African Football men's referee of the year [Getty Images] The match will be officiated by Omar Artan, the Somali referee who was in line to take part in the 2026 World Cup , but was turned away by border officials in Miami. Artan held a diplomatic passport and a single-entry US visa, but was still prevented from entering the country. Uefa said the decision to appoint Artan had been taken after discussions with the Confederation of African Football (Caf). Artan was the 2025 Caf men's referee of the year and was set to be the first Somali to referee at the World Cup finals. Who are the prevous winners?
